As I am heading back home to London for a short visit this month, I am already planning more travel adventures – Europe will be back on my doorstep! Istanbul was a top choice, but my best friend and I have decided on Budapest.
One of the draws of the Hungarian capital, Budapest, is the fact that it is possible to see the sights and enjoy its famous nightlife on a budget. Beautiful historic buildings and areas with stunning views over the city that can be explored for free, along with some of the museums and tours. Many other activities and attractions cost very little, and providing you know where to go, food, drink and entertainment expenses can be kept to an absolute minimum – perfect considering I live in Asia and am used to keeping my costs extremely low.
Luckily I won a $500 Expedia voucher on the weekly Expedia Chat (every Monday) so my flight and hotel expenses are covered, although the alternative option was to hire an apartment close to city.
As I am in the fun planning stages of my Budapest trip, I found this fun infographic from Love My Vouchers which gives you a basic plan of the must-see sights, plus a little help in planning the finances that you will need while you are there. There is so much to see in this gem of a city, but the fun is going to be in not planning too much, and see what we stumble across.
That is, after all, how I travel now – sporadic, unplanned adventure.
